The Town and Country Symphony Orchestra delights music lovers of all ages. The 60 -80 piece orchestra traces its origins back to a small ensemble that began in 1953, known as the Brentwood Symphony Orchestra. At its current home – The Principia – the orchestra continues to give free performances. It also plays at a variety of venues such as malls, parks, retirement centers and schools.

The city was incorporated in 1950, as a village with fewer than 1,000 residents. A number of business organizations have played a significant role in the growth and vitality of the city's economy and more than 400 companies call Town and Country home. A non-profit corporation, the Town and Country Chamber of Commerce seeks to advance the commercial, industrial, professional, cultural, educational, social and civic interests of the community. The Chamber also serves as a liaison between area businesses and city government.

Town and Country is served by the Parkway School District, which encompasses approximately 68 square miles in western St. Louis County. The district was formed in 1954 from five separate elementary school districts. It is now the largest district in St. Louis County and the fourth largest in the state. Thirteen district schools were recently recognized as schools of excellence, the most from any one school district in the nation. The district boasts AAA rating from the Missouri State Department of Education. All senior high schools are fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Parkway's graduation rate is nearly 100% and each year, nearly all of the graduates plan to pursue post-secondary education. Town and Country places an emphasis on higher education and provides easy access to both Maryville University and Missouri Baptist University.
